Private Rented Accommodation

There is a high demand for housing in all areas of the county, which cannot be met through affordable social housing within the Bucks Home Choice Partnership. We do not have the homes needed to re-house everybody and we need to work with applicants and private landlords to find housing for people where they will be happy and can access the services they require.

An advantage of renting privately is that it provides you with a quicker solution to your housing needs, giving you a greater choice of properties in the area in which you wish to live e.g. located nearer to schools, employment, hospitals, GPs, family and support networks.

The private rented sector has become a very important source of housing within the Bucks Home Choice Partnership, with the majority of households needing to seek their own accommodation. Renting a home from a private landlord is a popular way of obtaining a place to live if you are unable to buy a home and social housing is not an option for you.

• Lettings Agents - many landlords advertise their homes through Letting Agents and will usually charge a full month’s rent in advance and a deposit. The agent may also charge a fee.

• Local supermarket noticeboards, newsagents and newspapers usually have a rental section. It is best to contact the landlord quickly if you find a property you like.
