Applying to go on the Housing Register

If you are not currently on the Housing Register you can apply by clicking on the ‘Register’ tab on the left of the page. The application is a two stage process and it will take approximately 30 minutes to complete a full form. Things to remember:

• You can ask someone to help you to complete your application, for example a friend, family member or support worker. If you have no one to help you please contact one of the Housing Options Teams listed in the ‘Contact Us’ tab.

• You will be given a tailored Action Plan after you have completed the first stage of the form; this will include housing options that may be available to you. You can print this off should you wish. We strongly recommend that you consider all housing options as this will be the quickest way to solve your housing need, due to the severe shortage of social housing in the area.

• If you qualify to go on and make a full application please ensure that you press the ‘submit’ button at the end. Once received, there may be a delay in assessing your application if large volumes of applications have been received. We cannot guarantee that an application will be assessed in time to enable an applicant to bid in a particular bidding cycle.

• If you are accepted onto the Housing Register you will be sent a letter or email to tell you whose register you are on, your priority date and band and the size of property you will be able to bid for.

• You will be given a unique Bucks Home Choice registration number which you will need to access the Bucks Home Choice website to bid for properties.

• It is your responsibility to keep the council informed of any changes to your circumstances, for example, changes to your household size or address. This is very important, as it could result in a change to your banding or the type of property you can bid for. If you are in receipt of Housing Benefit you will need to provide the information to both departments separately.

• If your details change and you wish to stay on the Housing Register you must complete a Change of Circumstances form. This will appear in a tab on the left of your screen once you are registered and you are logged in.
