Mutual Exchange

Mutual exchange is an option for existing social housing tenants (in rented properties) who wish to exchange homes with another social housing tenant. Any exchange is subject to landlord approval and this option is particularly useful for social housing tenants who do not qualify to join the housing register or want to move to a different area.

There are a number of websites that offer this service. The most popular site in the Buckinghamshire area is www.homeswapper.co.uk although there are a number of other sites available, some of which are listed below.

If you are successful in finding an exchange you must contact your landlord for permission.
